Join us October 24th for our Howl-oween open mic night @ 6:30pm
CCSS Theatre Arts Presents: One Act Plays November 19th - 22nd. Get ready to laugh as we present two one-act comedies, “The Complete History of Theatre (abridged)” by Matt Thompson, and “How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse” by Ben Muir.
Our first show is a farcical romp through the theatre history timeline, “The Complete History of Theatre (abridged)”. It’s opening night, and master playwright William Shakespeare, theatrical diva Sarah Bernhardt and the indelible intellectual Constantine Stanislavsky lead us on a wild and wacky journey through the history of theatre. Along the way, the bumbling Shakespeare misquotes himself, Sarah Bernhardt can’t get over the sound of thunderous applause and Stanislavsky gets blown out of a cannon when someone says the name of “the Scottish play” in the theatre. With time running out on the theatre’s rental agreement, the trio pays homage to the world’s best-known and beloved plays and musicals at breakneck speed. Near the play’s end, the cast realizes that the playwright hasn’t written an ending, so our heroes are forced to seek the audience’s help in finding a creative conclusion to the show.
After intermission, we bring you Dr. Dale and his infamous School of Survival lecture series, “How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse”. Through interactive simulations, discussions, and demonstrations, four elite members of the S.O.S. will teach you everything you need to know to thrive and survive when the dead revive. Not only will you learn how to survive a zombie apocalypse, but you will also learn if you can be the Ultimate Survivor!*
*no actual zombies appear in this lecture series
